Hemochromatosis and herbs

I have a patient at the moment who has been suffering from dizziness,

weakness, nausea and hypoglycaemaia and weakness in the legs since a bout of

toxoplasmosis. I think that at this stage Xiao Chai Hu Tang may be

appropriate but the concern is with the high iron count - what would the

affect of tonic herbs ( say dang gui) be on a condition such as this? Does

anyone have any experience or light they can bring to this?
