Guest guest
Dear Members This has been a slow month for CHA. The email server and T-1 line at PCOM has been down for over a month due to a blunder by our local phone company (go figger, right). Since about 20% of our members either use PCOM email as their CHA address or depend on the computers at the school to access the internet, this has inhibited the usual degree of discussion. We have had about 65 new members join during this period and I just want them and the rest of you to know what is going on. This problem should be soon remedied. On a related note, I know some people do not participate because they do not want to be "attacked", as Will put it last week. Well, first of all, we all miss Will's input when he sits on the sidelines as we miss all who feel this way. This list was set up to encourage lively debate. I don't care for personal attacks and try and watch closely to prevent such things. However, email is a tricky arena. Without the the cues of normal conversation, such as body language, inflection and facial expression, things can often be misconstrued. There are many folks on this list who express their points with tenacity and adamance, but I know most of these people and can be pretty sure that none of them is being malicious. We have had some malicious folks in the past and they have been summarily banished. So don't be afraid to speak up. We want to hear from all of you. The more the merrier. But for those who get easily riled as I do, try not to send emails in anger. Emotions are no basis for a good argument. sometimes I write strongly worded posts and set them aside for a day till I am rational again. Then I am glad I waited and rewrite a more civilized post. A good rule of thumb is to not write anything you wouldn't feel comfortable saying to someone's face. Thanks for your cooperation in this exciting forum. As of today, we have 450 members. We started with 3 just 2.5 years ago. -- , VOICE: (858) 946-0070 FAX: (858) 946-0067
Guest guest
Allow me to add my experience to encourage participation. I took the time to post quite a long case, seeking input from members regarding a patient's prostate-related condition. The replies have really helped, all in different ways. Of note, a very thoughtful and thorough exposition from Bob Flaws which has clarified my thinking process. I liked that he assisted me in my thinking about this patient. Where else can you find and participate in this multiplicity of approaches in all phases of our Chinese herb craft? Thank you all. Frances Dear Members This has been a slow month for CHA.
