I am reposting this so I can be replied to directly. I have been

having difficulty posting for a few days . Several months ago I asked

for some advice for my Uncle who is a quadriplegic who developed

sores on his knees. The Ching Wan Hung didn't work at all and we now

know why. He has been diagnosed with Pemphigus - an autoimmune

disease that describes a blistering of the skin caused by antibodies

binding to the epidermis and can be fatal. Are there

any TCM treatments available for this condition? What overall

formulas would one use to tonify the immune system? Also can someone

give me a referral for an acupuncturist in the Cherry Hill NJ area

who would be willing to make house calls? Thanks for your help.Todd?

Jim? Alon? Karen? Any suggestions?

I live in Philly. If you call me at the office I can probably refer you to

a cherry hill practitioner. 215-438-2977

I think there is a section on pemphigus in one of the TCM dermo books

at my clinic. I'll check on Tuesday. I think the case I was familiar

with involved blood heat and blood stasis as the branches. I can't

remember if the root was yin xu, depressive heat or spleen xu with

dampheat, but these are all possibilities. the heat needs to come from

somewhere and these are the three most likely culprits in my

experience. With autoimmunity, I always consider food allergies, as

well.
