Guest guest
Alon mentioned calorie restriction as the only proven method of life extension (albeit in rodents). Yogic and taoist sources have also suggested this for millennia. However, there is some doubt that this would actually work in humans or that it would be desirable even if it did. Here is a link with extensive pro and con arguments. http://www.infinitefaculty.org/sci/cr/cr.htm from a TCM perspective, it appears that properly practiced CR would allow optimum nutrition to replenish yin, yang, qi and blood, yet would prevent buildup of phlegm, damp and blood stasis. It is my understanding that the animals who are forced to do this are very unhappy. Perhaps humans could mitigate this with yoga and meditation (which also seem to slow biological aging -- we don't know if they extend life because animals cannot be trained to do these activities. ) -- , VOICE: (858) 946-0070 FAX: (858) 946-0067
