I am also treating a 41 year old patient who is Dx. with endometriosis.

This patient recently underwent surgery to remove " chocolate " type cysts

from her overies. I studied up on these... and in TCM it appears to me that

because for her, she is so Xue xu that the blood is getting stuck/yu and

therefore she if forming these cysts. The doctor gave her 3 options post

surgery 1) take birth control ... I am thinking this is because with BC most

women almost stop bleeding altogether 2) she get a $500.00 injection of

depo-provera... or 3) do neither. Options 1 & 2 she was told, was to

prevent the cysts from coming back. She does not want to do hormones... so

I am working with her with herbs. I am working with 2 sets of herbs... from

the time she stops bleeding I am giving her herbs that are primarily xue

invigorating... for 2 weeks followed with blood tonics. Her tongue is

extremely pale... actually the palest I have ever seen. This patient was

self prescribing black cohosh... which from my understanding makes one bleed

more. Overall she has very deficient body type. I did not influence her to

not to Hormones... only suggested that there is another way to look at

things.
