Guest guest
Hi everyone! And thanks to Jean & Todd... for the insight about my patient with Xue Yu in the sacral area! I now have anther question? I have been trying to find some reading about nerve damage... I am going through different class notes and trying to remember if I learned something in any of my herb or Acu classes. I have a W.Comp patient who almost lost his hand in an accident. The MD I work with referred him to me... and since we have been working together he has regained sensation back in his hand and there is no more tingling. The only remaining symptom is that he has sharp shooting pain and muscle weakness... which is now only happening about 6 times a week. He states that nothing sets it off, that it is very random. His muscle strength for the left arm is also diminished... meaning that with a hand grap device he has a strength of 30 on the left and ~65 on the right. I know the less dominant hand will automatically be 10 to 20 points/pounds weaker. Thus far I have only used needles and E-stim... however he is open to taking herbs. Would I be headed in the right direction if I evaluated a formula that addresses sciatica pain? Would I be looking at the Spleen because of the relation to muscle... Bob do you have books that address the Nerves specifically? I have a 2 nd patient with severe nerve damage, as well... so I am very interested in learning more!!! Thanks Teresa
