Kelly: Daoism has two different schools as you know: philosophical and

religious. It also existed well before TCM. Yin yang and five phases were

around way before " TCM " as I am sure you know a lot better than I if you

studied the I Ching for 10 years on your own.

There were always

Kelly: I think they used the concepts of Yin Yang and five elements within

the context of their belief system

to create a system of healthcare. This indirectly is related to TCM only in

the fact that TCM may have used some of their system and integrated it into

their own. They predated TCM so how are they using TCM theory?

 

 

The concepts of qi, xue, body fluids, yin,yang, five phases are not

offspring of TCM or limited in their use only within TCM.

 

As you have reiterated this is a macrosystem....Qi, yin,yang, five phases,

can be used to describe the universal movement of all things under heaven,

and well actually the heavenly movements as well....In the context of

systems, TCM is just another microsystem.
