Guest guest
> It's clear there used to be pharmaceuticals in herbal products but everything I see now I trust to be clean because i think that most Chinese importers are aware of the problem . I'm confused about the Xanax. Was it in the batches sampled or not? Is Warfarin a drug or a chemical compronent? it sounds like a drug. > > > Since there is a small history of mixing pharmaceuticals with herbal > products in China, this doesn't seem to be an anomaly or error, at least > on the production side. Guest guest
Wayfarin is coumadin, a blood thinning drug. It needs to be carefully monitored to avoid problems with bleeding. Guest guest
Jim, The Reishi monograph from AHP lists a study that reports a vasodilatory and platelet inhibitory actions for it. Don't know if it compares it to pharmaceuticals, but you may be able to extrapolate. The citation is: Chen AW, Miles PG. 1996. Biomedical research and the application of mushroom nutriceuticals from Ganoderma lucidum. In Royse DJ, editor. Mushroom biology and mushroom products; 1996 Jun 9-12; University Park. University Park: Penn State Univ. p 161-70. Colleen Anyone know of any studies comparing the effectiveness of warfarin [or aspirin] to any herbs? Guest guest
Coleen: Thanks. I know one company has tested their formulas again Western cancer medications, etc; but they haven't done any real promotion or full disclosure about their testing methods. I was hoping other companies tested their formulas, too; or other studies like this were around.
