Guest guest
Sophie Chen at Botaniclab reported to one of our faculty (this is now third hand) that she mimicked the spectrum chromatograph of coumadin via botanicalmeans. The DHS did not find coumadin - only a similar spike. They had thisdiscussion with the DHS and there was an agreement of a recall with no pressrelease until the materials were further tested. Apparently the agreementwas not kept. However, the presence of Xanax was verified and in my opinion is justificationfor press release. Here is a clip from BotanicLab website http://www.botaniclab.com/html/recallmore.html " BotanicLab is extremely concerned about the discovery of contaminants in SPES. The company has never knowingly included any synthetic substance as an ingredient formulated in the composition of our products. While BotanicLab is aggressively investigating the issue, we believe this contamination occurred in China with our raw material suppliers, and have imposed more rigorous controls in our supply chain review process as well asexpanded our product testing to ensure such contamination does not occur again. Coumadin BotanicLab also conducted independent testing of the product, and based on the advice of its experts, believes further analysis and testing is needed before a final determinationcan be made. Our independent lab results reported the material was notnecessarily Warfarin, but may instead be a phytocoumarin (a compound naturallysynthesized in various green plants) that may & quot;mimic & quot; Warfarin inlaboratory testing. In addition to their own testing, these experts citeevidence in the scientific literature for their view that further testing isnecessary to confirm the material at issue is Warfarin. However, BotanicLab believes our first responsibility is to the safety and wellbeing of our customers. Therefore, we are taking two prudent steps.First, we accept the DHS request and are issuing a product recall of all lotsof PC SPES. Second, we are also undertaking additional testing of PC SPES in bothcommercial and academic laboratories to gain more insight into how to settlethe question of whether the material at issue is synthetic or natural. Weintend to share the results of these tests with DHS, as well as with ourcustomers, as soon as they are available. Alprazolam: BotanicLab cooperated fullywith the DHS testing and investigation, and verified the Department's resultsthrough independent testing.
