Guest guest
Ken: How is that you distinguish so severely between the clinical descriptions and conditions in the classics and in contemporary practice? In either case, you cannot examine the patient, nor is the language in either necessarily consistant terminology. At least in the forum you can ask follow up questions of the author. As I said, I am distinguishing between my own limits and what I feel I can accomplish by communicating with people via email. I am reminded again of the galling limitations of communication in general. I had no intention of trying to establish any such distinctions as you have inferred from my earlier post. It reminds me how careful we need to be in sharing information, and I guess that is really what I run into when I think about discussing cases. It's my limit, Jim. Not a statement of theory or principle or anything I'm trying to assert for the group. I was only answering Doug's question. I simply feel far more comfortable talking about cases in the clinic or in conjunction with the actual clinical encounter. Yes, well you'll notice that I've never once spoken against it. All I said is that I don't feel I can bring much to such discussions, for the reasons mentioned, and that's why I haven't and probably won't.
