Greetings,

I am wondering about this disease called cystic fibrosis (WM term)

and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this disease

regarding herbs/acupoints? This is the case study which I need some

insight, if there is any to share:

Patient of 32 yrs., male, (WM diagnosis: cystic fibrosis, a disease

where the lungs cannot fight off disease, are usually inflamed, and

produce phlegm as a result)red tongue proper, with larger crack in

center of tongue and many cracks in different places on tongue ie

liver area, gall bladder area, geographic tongue...slippery/wiry

pulse, patient has trouble gaining weight, must take digestive

enzymes to harden stools (loose stools otherwise since birth)...must

take medicine to prevent panic attacks which started 2 yrs. ago

during times of stress (anti-depressant)...has constant cough and

phlegm must be eliminated daily by spitting,(mostly white, not too

thin or thick) or coughing it up, some days good, some worse,

sometimes gets infections (yellow/green phlegm) (pnuemonia, or

bacterial infections) and must stay a week or more in the hospital on

antibiotics. Obviously non-smoking, doesn't drink alcohol, eats

regularly and tries to keep a good diet, ie plenty of fresh food,

etc.,exercises when he can. Is there anything else I can tell you?

Please let me know...Basically he was born with this congenital

disease that doesn't allow his lungs to fight off disease normally,

which is our first organ to be attacked by external pathogens...
