Hello All,

I was wondering what people think about using Dang Gui during pregnancy.

Certainly there are formulas designed to be used during pregnancy that

include Dang Gui but research shows that it can induce uterine

contractions so some people advise to stay away from it. Thanks in

advanced for sharing any experiences.

Dear Colleen, I asked exactly that question (also about Chuan Xiong) to

Jiling Hu, our gynecology expert at Yo San a week ago, because a colleague

asked me, and she said these herbs' relation to blood is really considered

" harmonizing the blood " and there is no danger during pregnancy. Many patent

formulas to calm the fetus for threatened miscarriage contain these herbs.

She suggested no Chuan Xiong in a decoction, but Dang Gui would be all

right, and to avoid the " tails. "
