Guest guest
Recently I was hospitalised for inflammation of gall bladder. Initially I was only having fever and I saw 4 chinese doctors for my fever. The first doctor felt that my qi was weak and the fever was due to 'she ren'. He prescribed dang gui and xuan shen. The second doctor saw my tongue and she suspected there may be some sand in my gall bladder. She prescribed qin fang bai du and an acuputure was done on my he guan and he gu. I only felt well for a while and the fever came back. Then the pain came between the apex of the rib cage. I consulted a third chinese doctor. She felt the medicine was too cooling for my stomach. She precribed shi gao, ma huang etc. An acuputure was done on my he gu and san yang jiao. The fever subsided in the morning but in the afternoon, I was vomitting very badly and the spain spread to the whole of my gastric area. I went to see a fourth chinese doctor and she felt the 2nd and 3rd chinese doctor had given me the wrong medicine. She gave me another medicine and acuputure and ba guan. After taking her medicine, the pain spread to the right side of my body. Upon checking with this 4th doctor, she said it was alright and definitely there would be pain. There was no need to be hospitalised and I just need to see her again the next day. I saw the western doctor and I tried to take the western medicine for the gastric but I vomited everything. By then I could hardly walk, sit and lie. My family sent me to the hospital and the doctor had wanted to do a open surgery. I was fighting for the fever for more than two weeks and it was only after the sixth day in the hospital that the fever came down and the doctors decided against operating until 6-8 weeks later using lapascopy instead of open surgery. I was on drip for 8 days without food and water. I still felt weak after discharge from the hospital for 1 week. I am a TCM student in Singapore, finishing my first year. After this incident, I somehow lost confidence in TCM. There was no motivation for me to continue the course and I have lost absolute confidence in TCM. Right now I am trying apple flush to see whether it works for my inflammation of my gall bladder. I am still in the dilemna of whether or not to go for the lapacopy to remove the gall bladder. My CT scan showed no sign of stone and my doctors think it may be smaller than 1 cm and that why it cannot be seen in the scan. Another HIDSCAN was suggested. The western doctors felt that it was necessary to remove the gall bladder as I may have the problem again till I die. The chinese doctors felt otherwise. This sickness came as a surprise to me as I am very careful with my diet and lifestyle. I am a believer of holistic living. I don't know is there anyone who could provide me with some advice. You have given some already, but we need the exact TCM diagnosis and the complete list of ingredients for formulas you have taken. 1) Chief complaint/Chinese disease (bing) 2) Biomedical Dx and supporting lab tests 3) Relevant Medical History, include habits, diet, exercise, etc. 4) questioning examination (subjective) 5) pulse & nbsp; and palpation examination (objective) 6) tongue and observation examination (objective) 7) the pattern(s) and treatment principles you chose, including your rationale (unless this is your question) (assessment) 8) herbs used (unless this is your question) (plan) 9) other treatments or lifestyle changes

I have to say that I was not very impressed with the WM diagnostics of the Dr, including the surgeons, in the hospital I worked in. I have no reservations saying that all acute abdomens should be treated with a combined methods and not my TCM alone. There is benefit in combination in almost all patients.
