Guest guest
Dear All, Time passes and we're all growing older. I'm 56 this year. Recently, Blue Poppy hired a General Manager to take over Honora's and my managerial and administrative duties. We also recently hired a professional copyrighter for advertising. Now I'm thinking about someone to eventually replace me in terms of Blue Poppy Press's editor-in-chief and Blue Poppy Herbs' R & D person. I'm not necessarily planning on going anywhere soon, but one never knows and, sooner or later, Blue Poppy will need someone to take over from me. Since the skill set is somewhat unique, it might take several years to find/develop my successor. Some of the requirements would be: Ten years clinical experience preferred (five, maybe, depending on the person) A reading knowledge of Chinese (by the time they were eventually hired) Better than average English and writing skills Better than average knowledge of Chinese medicine, especially internal medicine A true passion for Chinese medicine Maybe we're talking about two separate people: one for herbal R & D for Blue Poppy Herbs and one for editor of Blue Poppy Press. That's a possibility, although it'd be great to find one person who could do both. Anyone who thinks they might be interested in eventually taking over my position, should get in touch with me at: bob. It's not that my job is currently open, but I expect it would take most people a few years to develop the skills we will eventually be needing. At the moment, we're talking about a mentoring relationship. Depending on the person, we might also be talking about the person being paid to teach some of the classes I have developed. In that case, the person would also have to have some knowledge of or be willing to learn about adult education and public-speaking.
