Hi Japanese Kampo Experts,

What is " ketsukyo & oketsu syndrome " , as in the abstract, below:

The effects of Shi-Motsu-to (Si-Wu-Tang in Chinese; prepared from

Cnidium officinale, Paeonia lactiflora, Angelica acutiloba &

Rehmannia glutinosa), one of most important prescriptions for

ketsukyo & oketsu syndrome in TCM, on microcirculation of bulbar

conjunctiva & haemorheological parameters were examined in 10

healthy volunteers. After one hour of oral administration of Shimotsu-

to extract, blood flow rate & blood flow volume significantly increased

& DEA (maximum diameter of column of intravascular erythrocyte

aggregation) decreased. whole blood viscosity declined at middle &

high shear rates, but plasma viscosity & erythrocyte deformability

were not affected. results suggest that Shimotsu-to improves

microcirculation through a decrease in whole blood viscosity. PT:
