The following tonic herbs possess antioxidant activity: Ginseng, ginger, cimicifuga, alisma, polygonum, rehmannia, atractylodes, poria, polygonatum, ophiopogon, psoralea, cuscuta, Lycium, acanthopanax, ligustrum, cornus, paeonia moutan, cinnamon, dioscorea, alpinia, shizandra, codonopsis, jujube, cratagus, allium, citrus reticulate and pilose antler. Minor Bupleurum formula and saikosaponin d isolated from bupleurum also have antioxidant effect.
