Hello All-

I am in my fourth year of private practice and have recently joined your discussion group. Thankyou for the interesting and informative forum. Three items caught my eye recently. First, the thing about cat pulses. Where and how does one take a cat's pulse? They have these long skinny forepaws, difficult to find a pulse.

The discussion about practice building is certainly one to which most of us can relate. I practice where I work, in La Jolla, and do little advertising. Slowly I am building a strong client base, mainly word of mouth. I am considering investing more time and energy, and doing a lecture series. We'll see the outcome.

The subject of mentoring was also interesting. I have been interning with Z'ev for what feels like forever. Every time I work with him I learn something, anything from how to run a practice to some arcane bit of information that will be useful at some point. He also counsels me on some of the tougher patients I have. He has helped me tremendously. I don't want to sound evangelical, but I feel this is an ongoing and a very vital part of my education.
