Guest guest
Dear Marco, It is really unfortunate that the school you attended did not emphasize the reading and writing of the language of TCM . We have similar courses here in Australia which de-emphasize the study of this language which is refered to as Yi Gu Wen or 'classical Chinese medical litrature'. As a matter of fact early this year I was invited to an expanded meeting of the Registration Board of Victoia to discuss a set of guidelines for the teaching of TCM tertiary courses in Australia. A discussion on the level of the teaching of this language training ensued. Resulting from this discussion is the paper " The Language of TCM Practice and a Unified TCM Curricullum " that I wrote as a submission to the CMRB of Victoria. This paper (17 pages doubble space) contains a discussion of issues which we are now deliberating in the list on the Chinese Language. I would like to make it available to list members and I have written to the moderator a number of days ago about the technicalities on how this can be done. I wonder whether it has been received for I have not had a reply . The paper contains some Chinese scripts written from the Sunrise Chinese software and I am using an Imac computer . So much for this matter. Now back to the problem of the word 'acupressure'. The following words can be found in pages : Anfa(1180); Tianfa (this should be pinyinized as " Dianfa p.1187); Yafa (p. 651) of the Chinese English Medical Word-Ocean Dictionary. In a treatment setting I tend to apply manual manipulation and accept the importance of making therapeutic exercises either before during or after needling, as well as emphasis things one can do in ones own time, thanks to the little I know about Japanese acumoxa. Guest guest
Dear Rey and Robert, Many thanks for the coments have made a presentation that on a transparent (paper to use a projector) shows the way "acupressure" can be expressed in Chinese and Japanese pin yin by no means exsative list (probably). and then some synonyms related to terms in the Spanish language and one in the English, because I could not find any appropriate synonyms in the Spanish language at least none which I deem relevant. Either way this is to get a discussion going: what do you think "acupressure" can be? (even possible responsibilities comes out of the synonym list) The group is promotores de salud which is hard to explain in one meaning but most are illiterate some speak as rusty Spanish as mine but we have to start somewhere right... Marco feeling very happy that this list exist and really thanks for all the help... Robert: Muchisimas gracias, muy amable. Deseo establecer y mantener contacto con terapeutas en el caribe y centroamérica. Si puede, me manda su direccion en privado. Desculpeme por mi español horrible.Marco: Con mucho gusto... Guest guest
Marco, Robert, The word that I've used in my Spanish brochures and one that's readily understood by the diverse Spanish spoken throughout Latin America is " Digitopuntura " . Hope this helps. ~Fernando , " kampo36 " <kampo36> wrote: > > what do you think " acupressure " can be? Guest guest
Dear Robert, Fernado and all... I did not mean that I had no word for acupressure in the spanish language but presented some synonyms of the following (of which one term (dedo-finger) is actualy treated as it was Engles becuase could not find any suitable synonym in the spanish language (in my opinion). The objective was to induce-stimulate a conversation but here most people are used to being told. A cultural anitidot: I was running since I was on the verge of being late and it so happen that a aquianten passed by in a car: Aquiantan: Why are you runing? I: Becuase I am late...[potentialy, i.e. not realy] Aquiantan: [blank expression on the face or still a question mark] So? Robert I will send a letter of list, more presciesly this sunday...
