Guest guest
I just read the NCCAOM call for comments on their proposed change to their herb cert requirements. they indeed have written the change loosely enough so that ANYONE who did 450 hours could get the cert. this depends on who ACAOM schools will let in their programs, though. I think we can count on their discretion. fortunately, there is a simple solution. that our professional organizations actively work to prosecute untrained laypeople who practice chinese herbology. the certificate does not give scope of practice in ANY state. And if the NCCAOM is going to let their greed destroy our profession, we have no choice but to call on our various attorney generals to enforce existing state practice acts and teach them a lesson in humility. Would medical boards give a certificate in plastic surgery to a layperson. the NCCAOM has certainly been working hard this year to LOWER the educational barriers to licensure (they are trying to REDUCE hours in CA schools, for example). Nothing we can do to stop the MD's, etc., but we can get the hours upped. sends your public comments to info Chinese Herbs " Great spirits have always been violently opposed by mediocre minds " -- Albert Einstein
