Guest guest
dear list.... The topic of Chinese medicine within state recognise universities and "independent" from the universities is an intriguing one. Since I believe Canada Australia USA and England now has both courses within and without. My impression the little I know is that Australia has develop a curriculum with Chinese medicine or TCM as a base-platform, Some and this I am less aware of in the USA (correction please). Where it seams to be more technical orientated i.e. techniques rather then a medical paradigm. However the schools out side of universities seam really good. by the sound of some of there libraries and practitioners there from. SIOM for example have many interesting articles and PCOM has interesting (interesting meaning useful thoughtful informative and so forth...) To Gia some examples... However With regard to SIOM may I suggest a change of articles? ideally by same authors and others, less I am mistaking they been there for some years now. Maybe (not sure if Bensky is on the list) you-Bensky could publish something (else) on the SIOM web site? There are also many schools - universities that has not bothered to put anything if you happen to be related to one of these schools I (if one may say so) think it would be a very good spirited idea to publish something either student or teacher on the web site "to reflect the spirit of the school". In Canada in some place called B.C there seam to be college of Chinese medicine (here denoting a recognised registered institute of practitioners). If any one has comments of the Canadian system I would be very interested in fact from any country I am trying to do lot of back ground reading. Yesterday there was a meeting at the ministry of health in Guatemala (this may sound as "advanced" but here one can say literary anything and nothing tends to get implemented), however, in paper: Protect and Conserve the intellectual property right of the Traditional practioners Maintain and develop a system that ensures natural drug in all its forms is accessible for practitioner and patients .i.e. individually "lose herb" packed... There is much more once I get hold of the document in a less fragmented state I would bi willing to send it to any one that may find it interesting as a historical document to see some evidence that Guatemala (in this case) is thinking about: Medicina Popular y Tradicional y Medicina Alternativa Its all in Spanish, presumably there will be little interest however it is nice to have the possibility. As an analogy the possibility of knowing Chinese medicine is much reduced when people "easily go happily" claim to have made the"interpretation-sanitises" and derived at so call "integrative" medicine, hence even if you vermontly refuse to recognise different cognitive processes in say Chinese medicine and Western medicine, I for one think that the most just thing would at least first present as much as possible from the classics and other books in Asian language that we have no idea about at least the majority. Then it would be interesting to present what ever and the future practitioners could "cut and paste" but with a lot more background information...
