Guest guest
I also use Alphastim and my patients really love it and so do I! They are a reputable US company, with research to back it up. Their unit is FDA approved for use above the neck. Guest guest
I've seen the Alphastim used with an ear clip (can't attach to needles) and electrodes. I assume it's possible to attach an alligator clip? Guest guest
Catherine, The AlphaStim doesn't come with alligator clips because it is designed to get through the skin's electrical resistance by itself, without needing the intervention of a needle. I know that we, as acupuncturists, are used to using electrostim on needles but the AlphaStim isn't designed that way. There are the hand-held probes, or stick-on electrodes, as well as the ear clips. --Joydy - Catherine Hemenway Tuesday, September 10, 2002 11:32 AM Re: Digest Number 1122 I've seen the Alphastim used with an ear clip (can't attach to needles) and electrodes. Alon I had ordered one on the trial basis that the company offered and it failed during the trial, the casing around where you plug in the cords cracked, which resulted in the patient getting intermittent stimulation, if any. I returned it and they sent me an older model with "banana plug" connectors which is not FDA approved. I have not had much success with it in treating pain related problems, using pads and probes. The auricular application has been useful for some patients with addictions and anxiety. I use it very little overall. Sean Doherty
