Guest guest
While those students in our program do not eat from Jack in the Box, as someone recently posted, and are in general a hard-working group, I would say the program was not even as challenging academically as the Allied Health Bachelors of Science I received. (where we were trained to be basically nothing more than one of the handmaidens of the once omnipotent doctor.)A pity-I would rather have done the homework and extra reading for a course of study I cared about. Truth is, we have no admission criteria other than ability to apply for student loans and get through 60 hours of college material. I know of very few who have failed a class, once enrolled. That's doesn't mean most won't be adequate practioners with good hearts, who can help people, and there are also those who show natural aptitude. But there are no competetive admissions our field that I know of, and I think that limits the academic rigor of the program. I'm supposed to be at one of the best schools, but the education standards were not what I was expecting. Since I'm not so young anymore and tired a lot that was ok, but as as far as Sionneau's comments go, there might be some truth to that as well. > In , wrote: > > Trouble is how do you decide who gets to the better trained? Every time I have tried to teach what I would conceder to be a professional level medical class, there were much complaints that it was too difficult, too much material etc. I think the expectation from students is still very low Alon
