Guest guest
http://www.vifab.dk/index_uk.htm The need for research-based knowledge of complementary and alternative medicine is gaining increased recognition. But what is an adequate scientific approach to this field? This conference focuses upon the special possibilities and problems arising in research in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Among the topics addressed by researchers from Denmark and abroad is the concept of placebo – does it refer to an essential aspect of the therapeutic process or, to a family of biases and errors to be eliminated in well-designed research projects? Should the same standards of clinical evidence be applied as elsewhere in health related research? How is self-selection and self-care handled in the context of research projects? Guest guest
How is self-selection and self-care handled in the context of research projects? My understanding is that participants are randomnly put into different treatment categories. The practioneer would be cluless as to which group the participant is in. Teresa Chinese Herbal Medicine, a voluntary organization of licensed healthcare practitioners, matriculated students and postgraduate academics specializing in Chinese Herbal Medicine, provides a variety of professional services, including board approved online continuing education. Guest guest
Teresa: The two paragraphs quoted are the introduction to the conference material, which show its scope and purpose. Ted Kaptchuk and others will discuss (and hopefully answer) those questions. Unfortunately, it's in Denmark; but there may be some papers published.
