Guest guest
> > Was the formula you mentioned in capsules? Unfortunately, encapsulated powders are not cost effective, IMO. Yes, capsules are not cost effective but most of my patients will pay the difference cause the powders are so inconvinient they think. One school I'm teaching at charges $9 for a standard two day formula for the " single powder " packets of granules. I trust they are giving a fair price. If this is the case then the $70 per 2 weeks is not out of hand. I can think of two offices that one could say abuse their herb prescriptions. (Not really, really bad... but on the border, in my opinion). Both are hugely successful professionally. I used to worry that I was ripping people if I was charging anything more than my treatments. Then I realized that many were leaving the office and then spending many dollars at the local health food store just because they felt they wanted to be taking " something " . Often I'll give away the $3-5 dollar patents as good will practice building. Now I have an office with an " in-house " supply of very high quality formulas, I can be confident of the quality, I charge appropriately and the patients seem its fair. doug
Guest guest
Will, My mistake. My patient paid $65 for three bottles of encapsulated herbs. This would average out to .21 per gram. It was the deposit policy that confused me.. Howard
Guest guest
At 04:43 PM 11/20/2002 +0000, >PCOM sells custom KPC powder formulas made by a local pharmacy for $25 for >100 grams, which our management considers adequate profit on our cost of >$20. PCOM is not known for giving away their products and services. Its >nice to know we are fair about herb prices (we sell our raw formulas for >$15 per week). PCOM NY charges $35 and the cost of raw herbs varies depending upon dosage. I recently filled a prescription there before leaving on a trip and had a bag a day, two-week prescription cost $89 , even with a discount. (Subsequent refills came from my own raw herb pharmacy.) Most professionals here seem to charge between $30-$50 a week for granules. In Chinatown however $35 gets you both the consult and the week's raw herbs. Lets be clear before we get started on this again. When quoting costs, please state the amount and the form. 100 grams? caps or powder?
