Guest guest
I have a patient in her early thirties with sarcoidosis. The only manifestation is painless, red pigmentation on her lower leg, where there is granuloma deposition. She does not have any pulmonary symptoms or arthritic problems that can manifest from the disease. She also had a pituitary tumor and subsequent removal of both tumor and pituitary gland in her early twenties. She is currently on complete hormone replacement. She wants to do herbs/acupuncture for the pigmentation on her legs, which she claims gets more pronounced towards the end of the day. Her tongue is deep red, moist, swollen, and narrow. Her pulse is slippery especially in the guan position bilaterally. I have not given her any herbs yet, but was thinking she was presenting with both kidney yin and yang vacuity, as well as damp heat in the liver. Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Sean Doherty
