Guest guest
Ken & Marco, I also find that taiji is rather a cultivated taste and not for everyone. It is unfortunate that many who are hiring instructors of taiji (and qigong) in our AOM schools are as uninformed about what to look for as your average YMCA or parks & rec administrator. I have seen many acupuncture students turned off forever to taiji because of the way it was taught in their school. In many schools (and at our conferences), taiji and qigong is offered as an activity rather than as an essential nourishment for practitioners. Frances -- Frances L. Gander, L.Ac. I've seen many, many people take it up over the years and relatively few stick with it. Despite the debate that could arise over why this is so, I've simply observed that it's not for everyone. That doesn't mean that I don't think virtually anyone could benefit from the study of tai4ji2. And I urge people to investigate. It's sometimes hard to find a good teacher. And maybe that's why so many start and don't stay with it.
