Typically the chinese characters are hou4 (thick) (as in Hou Po the herb,

if that helps), and bo2 (thin) (as in Bo He the herb, if that helps).

Sometimes hou4 zhong4 is used, (zhong4 as in " heavy " ). Hope that is of

some help.
