Gingko Biloba leaf is increasingly coming under fire from the western

medical community for its blood thinning properties. They proclaim inherent

dangers of interacting with heart medication and of bleeding during surgery

and other invasive techniques that cause bleeding. If you go to one of the

many quack watch sites you will see how strongly a coalition of physicans,

scientists and lawyers feel about herbal medicine. They want it regulated

out of existence. We must understand the true dangers to our right to use

and prescribe herbal medicine or we can quickly lose it.

You mean the seed, right? I did not think the leaf was toxic, though.

The leaf has been reported to have side effects. Also a NEJM article.

I'll get the cite on Monday.
