Guest guest
Huang jing contains a cardiac glycoside that is similar or identical in structure to the glycoside found in digitalis (foxglove) and the basis for digitoxin, a cardiac pharmaceutical. Foxglove is generally considered too dangerous for longterm use, due to cumulative toxicity and the inability to control dosage. The digitalis glycoside has a very narrow safety range. How relevant is this to the use of huang jing. Does it have substantial amounts of cardiac glycosides. It is supposed to be safe for longterm use, even in children.
