Guest guest
Has anyone here been sucessful in treating vitiligo? My Beijing derm book (Encyclopedia #16) says that the basic patterns are Liv Qi Zhi and Ki Yin Xu. I saw many people with vitiligo in China, but haven't heard much in the way of treatment. The Beijing book says there's a pill called Bai Bo Pian, which is for vitiligo, so there is some kind of treatment at least. I have an Iranian patient who wants me to treat him for this, and I would say that he falls under the Liv Qi Zhi side of things if I had to pick a pattern from the book, plus some internal heat. When he eats eggplant, tomatoes, or beer, or when he gets hot and sweaty from exercise he gets severe itching within 30 mintues. He was a refugee from Iran when they had their revolution in the early 80's, at which time he had to leave his position as a player on the national soccer team. Now he's here working as an accountant, which is frustrating for him, and thus can cause Liv Qi Zhi. I was trying to find out if there is any chance of turning the skin that is hypopigmented back to normal color. I haven't done a full intake yet, but I'm looking for some paths to take and some guess as to prognosis. Thanks, Geoff
