Guest guest
I had a patient yesterday who had a very clear green tinge to her skin around the mouth, from LI 20 following down the nasolabial groove. The very tip of the chin itself was pale. Without going into the case, does anybody know or want to guess the significance of this (if any) in TCM or related traditions? thanks, doug

I would certainly exhaust the possibilities of various liver-related pathologies during the course of diagnosis with any patient who looks green. But without going into the case, which you don't seem inclined to do, it's not really possible to speculate much further. Does she have other symptoms of liver disharmony? Does she have a sour taste in her mouth? Crave/shun sour food? How is her menstruation? I'd be particularly interested in what you might discover by palpating the liver and gall bladder channels. What is she seeing you for? Ken
