Ephedra ban and Letter to the Congress

Illinois has just passed a law to completely ban the ephedra (Ma Huang). Other states probably are going to follow.

What is the future of in the United States of America?

Will all Chinese herbs be banned in America someday?

If the current situation continues (i.e. to classify herbs as foods and dietary supplements, and let the public abuse Chinese herbs), more herbal accidents will occur, and it’s possible that someday most (if not all) Chinese herbs will be banned in America.

To ensure the public safety and to protect the integrity of the profession of , the Center for Holistic and Herbal Therapy (CHHT) has initiated a “Letter to the Congress” to address the ephedra event and related issues.

It is time to change the abnormal situation and to protect from being unreasonably attacked.
