Guest guest
Unfortunately, Illinois acupuncturists are specifically prohibited from practicing herbal medicine, so no practitioner exemption from the ban is forthcoming. The acupuncture licensure bill itself was very clearly going to be killed if the profession pushed for inclusion of herbal medicine into the scope of practice. As it is the bigger issue in Illinois is independent practice, as IL requires physician referral for treatment with acupx. The kicker is Blagojevich was the democratic party candidate, so probably most of the acupuncturists in IL voted for him... robert hayden

I'm going to Chicago at the end of the week, so I'll ask. Certainly would've been a good idea, since it was pretty apparent that he was going to win. BTW, George Ryan, the former gov, was very supportive of the ISAA. Too bad he had that corruption thing that plagued his term in office... rh
