Guest guest
>- I look at it like this: The difference between us and the kid at the health food store (or the internet site) is that they can say they have a product that is good for a condition. And sell it. They aren't trained to do diagnosis especially, only offer products for sale. It's up to the " patient/consumer " to decide if they have the condition appropriate to the product. However for us once we have gotten the license, taken the oath, put out the shingle, everything we do is diagnosis and treatment. There are some web-sites with real practitioners out there that I think are very good at trying to overcome their limitations with phone calls and explicit disclaimers and recommendations. It's ironic and unfortunate that the patient may end up going to the health food store or one of those " acupuncturists " who doesn't know anything about herbs. ;-) On the bright side it gives us a good excuse to have ongoing patients come to see us every time they have an herb question. doug >board news > >I just got a mailing from the CA board of acu and something piqued my >interest. the board has concluded that " practitioners who diagnose and >prescribe treatments over the telephone or internet may be ... engaging in >unprofessional conduct.
