Guest guest
To all concerned, IMO, the US Chinese herb practitioner would be fortunate to see the future in terms of the Canadian model of supplement regulation vs the EU Directive on supplements and botanicals. OM national and state organizations need to work together (not separately) in promoting/demanding responsible regulation which is in the best interest of NCCAOM herb certified practitioners. Herb companies who think that NO regulation is GOOD regulation are not serving the long term interest of their customers : the licensed and board certified practioners. If the reasons are not obvious, let's get practitioners and academy members up to speed on the regulatory issues, international and national, which we need to come to grips with. Bill Egloff Crane Herb Company Please note the following : Health Canada announced new rules governing supplements and other natural health products that includes allowing supported health claims, but also stricter label regulations. Supplements will also be required to have a product license and be made in a GMP certified facility. The regulations cover " herbal remedies, homeopathic medicines, vitamins, minerals, traditional medicines, probiotics, amino acids and essential fatty acids " and will be enacted over a period of six years.
