Washes: Soak herbs 30 minutes in 1 Qt. Water. Cook 30 minutes. Apply

of calamine lotion. Dab it on with cotton ball or fingers. Can use this

after the wash dries or by itself. (Laurel Turk says " this was my favorite-

very soothing and drying)

Powdered:

Qing Dai 3

Shi Gao 4

Hua Shi 4

Huang Bai 2

 

You can also take the dry powder and sprinkle it on the very oozy areas.

 

Internal prescription (vary according to differential dx)

 

Jin Yin Hua 20

Lian Qiao 10

Chi Shao 10

Zhi Zi 10

Gan Cao 4

Fang Feng 10

Huang Qin 10

Che Qian Zi 10

Ku Shen 10

 

 

Also, we have found from experience that if people take prednisone for

poison ivy it will likely recur in a serious manner every year regardless of

exposure to the plant.

My first episode was particularly nasty and long lasting (perhaps

because I didn't know what it was at first, having not had an outbreak

before). I consulted a physician at the time, and asked about

prednisone. He refused to prescribe it and strongly advised against

it.
