A male, 38, suffers from depression. he has had diarrhea for the past 6 months and on-off for many years. he is on 90 mg of remeron (he tried to get off the med. in January and had a severe reaction, anxiety got much worse, insomnia, TMJ), he has been on antidepressants for about 5 years. smokes pot regularly (will stop). When I saw him in the past he had anxiety and now his condition shifted to depression. His pulse is deep, wiry and tense, ki weak, upper jiao pulses are weak also. His tongue is pink, normal size, peeled tender sides, thin white coat on the front and thicker in the back, some horizontal cracks in the middle of the tongue. red tip. He is depressed, lacking in motivation. He describes it as feeling blah all the time. His stools are soft and loose (not watery), frequent, sometimes twice an hour, large amounts, not smelly, no urgency, no cramping. The stool color is yellow. He has hemmoroids. His weight is stable, his appetite is good. he has gas, no odor (he says he doesnt notice an odor) His feet are cold. he has a constant ringing in the ears. I know there is for sure liver qi depression, otherwise I am having a diagnostic block... Any suggestions herbally??
