Guest guest
Dear Group, Does anyone have a source for slides that show herbs being grown, harvested and processed? I would like to use something like this as a teaching aid. If there is a book that contains such pictures, I could scan them and make slides out of them. I am very low-tech in my teaching methods -- I use real herbs and tastings and handouts with pictures on them, but some of my students have suggested slides. Thank you. Guest guest
Julie, I think that Steven Foster had pics of Chinese herbs. And possibly Peter Holmes. I'd love shots of harvests and processing too. Guest guest
Try Michael Moore's website. He has an extensive collection of herb pictures available (mostly western). He offers a wealth of western herbalism, esp old eclectic books that are fully posted and available for downloading. Guest guest
The book is out of print, and it seems unlikely the publisher will reprint it. It is a beautiful book, but I suspect it was too expensive to reprint without a huge price increase. Of course, some of the publishers on the list may be better informed about that. Guest guest
My company president has both the Atlas and the Pharmacopoeia in the Chinese formats. They are great resources if you or your company can afford them. Bea and Harvey Dong at the Eastwind Books in Berkeley are very helpful and knowledgeable. It's a great place to visit when you're in town.
