Guest guest
Hi group, I thought some of you may be interested in this. Quite frankly, I am happy to hear that Acupuncture has been taken out of the Scope of practice for Naturopathic Doctors. Now, the question remains should they be allowed to prescribe Traditional ? Update: SB-907 (Burton) Naturopathic Doctors Senator Burton has made several language changes to SB 907. First, the word " physician " has been replaced with " doctor, " thus the reference is now " Naturopathic Doctor. " He has also agreed to, and did, remove acupuncture from the " scope of practice. " In his latest amendment (June 26, 2003) changes have also been made regarding " manipulation " so that the California Chiropractic Association would be neutral on the Bill. The main issues on the table for us are their use of " botanicals " or herbs that are Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicines, and massage. We have a meeting with Senator Burton 's office set for next week. SB-907 is set for hearing in the Assembly Business and Professions Committee on July 1, 2003.
