Guest guest
Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) has proposed the "Dietary Supplement Safety Act" (S.722) as an attempt to amend the DSHEA of 1994. In response to the S.722, we have just added a new section in the “Letter to the Congress” in order to stop the S.722. In addition, the new section has further pointed out the key points in amending the DSHEA of 1994. Dick Durbin’s "Dietary Supplement Safety Act" (S.722) represents the viewpoint of Western Medicine which does not want to give Herbal Medicine an independent professional medicine status. So the S.722 bundles the herbs with other dietary supplements and does not propose an independent “Herbal Medicine” category. The goal of the “Letter to the Congress” is to advocate the Chinese Herbal Medicine in order to develop it into an independent professional medicine (similar to what happened for the chiropractic and acupuncture) in America. If you have comments and suggestions on the new section on S.722 of our “Letter to the Congress”, you are welcome to direct your feedbacks to Info .
