Guest guest
something else for the politically active. this is an insurance coverage bill. I never personally cared for billing insurance, but most medicare patients cannot afford to use our services if they have to pay out of pocket. In addition, while cash practices can succeed, aren't they by definition elitist. and if so, is there unlimited room for expansion. there are only so many elites who can afford to pay out of pocket. I think when one hears about market saturation in big metropolis's, what that really means is that the elite market is saturated. In actuality, if TCM was a regular first line of care, there are not near enough acupuncturists to serve the needs of the population even in the most " saturated " cities like LA. So for those who are concerned about their future income, it might be worth considering supporting this bill as it will potentially open huge new markets in major urban areas. http://www.aomnc.com/member_lobby.php In his “Dear Colleague Letter,” which Rep. Hinchey recently sent out to Members of the House, he stated, “Americans care deeply about the right to choose their health care providers and the ability to control their own medical decisions. Acupuncture and other complementary treatments should be among the choices available to consumers. The Federal Acupuncture Coverage Act would make that a reality for the 48 million Americans covered by Medicare and the Federal Employees Health Benefits plan.” Chinese Herbs " Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds " -- Albert Einstein
