Guest guest
The Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academies has requested responses to the following questions. This material will be used to inform the NIH in a similar manner to the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? 1. Send us what you think are three good examples (e.g., published papers or the equivalent) of knowledge generation or research in your own CAM modality or discipline. We’re interested in learning as much as we can about how each field generates and shares knowledge about treatment effectiveness. 2. In the same vein, send us examples of outcome concepts and measures. That is, if a practitioner or researcher in your field was going to try to determine whether or not a treatment was effective, what outcomes would he or she look for? What would you others in the field want or expect to see? Thank you - Will Morris
