Guest guest
I've been for over a year getting the technology together in preparation to learn Chinese. After a class at the local college it basically comes down to little index flash cards. My butt, time and those darn flash cards. I assume everyone is talking about starting with The Practical-Chinese Library of TCM from the Publishing House of Shanghai College. I bought the whole series almost ten years ago and finally I'll be taking them off the shelves. As Bob Flaws says in his book, they are not great medicine but a great language tool. One thing I've been playing with is the Jiao Shude translation and the original a friend bought for me in the local Chinatown. (Maybe Redwing can offer the two Jiao Shude originals also) As I may have mentioned before, I'm looking at this the same way I took up violin a few years ago. It's a three year project. The first I wouldn't want to subject anyone to it, the second, a few lines for friends and now I'm at the point where I can't say I'm a violin player but I can have fun with it. doug
