Guest guest
Hi group, I have received a couple of new patients who after reading the book " What if everything you thought you knew about AIDS was wrong? " , by Christine Maggiore... have completey stopped taking the *cocktail*. One patient had a rather enlightening discovery when he realized that WM was treating his numbers and not him. He has been positive for 14 plus years and 2 years ago his T cell count went under 200 and the Doc said it was time for the *cocktail*. At any rate he had no other S/s other then the T cell count. Every since he has been taking the *cocktail* he has had one thing after another... diarrhea, paracites (which a mega dose of Ciperol was given), and now Mono. Bowel movements were orange and now they are green. He wants to do Acupuncture and TCM only and other self healing modalities. I know I just need to treat him according to his presentation, and as a result his immune system will get stronger... I know it is going to take a long time. Has anyone else treated anyone that just completely stopped taking there *cocktail* Has anyone had success with T cells going up? Do T cells really indicate a good quality of life? Jason... do you have a chart for HIV/AIDS like you do for cirrhosis?! Thanks, Teresa

I do, although it is still in Chinese, and I am extremely busy at the moment. It has 17 patterns. I wanted to translate the whole book, but am waiting for a response from CHina. Furthermore, I am not a expert on AIDS, but from my (limited) knowledge of the past TCM txs, they did not fair that well as a whole. The cocktail was a godsend, and people are actually living... THe docs of your p may be looking at numbers, but IMO, there is some wisdom here... Side-effects as well as the wholstic piece can be done through CM. Unless something signficantly new has come about since the 80's early 90's (in TCM) I don't think just treating the pattern is enough. Guest guest
I interned at the AIDS Care Project in Boston -- both acupuncture and herbal medicine. (See http://www.pathwaystcm.org/acp_who_we_are.html) I believe this organization provides some 10,000 treatments each year to patients. While at ACP I did a lot of palliative care, helping pts cope with side-effects of their various pharmaceutical cocktails and also supporting their health as it declined. Many of the patients had been diagnosed for 15-20 years. I recall treating many colds, URI, diarrhea, anorexia, hepatitis, lymphadodystrophy, fatigue, insomnia... Most patients at ACP received both pharmaceutical and acupuncture/herbal tx. A few did acupuncture/herbal medicine alone. I recall for those patients their disease course seemed more precipitous than those receiving the " integrated " treatment. The senior herbalist at ACP strongly encourages patients to get on pharmaceutical cocktails, especially when their T-Cell count dipped below 400. In long-term HIV survivors, we saw a good bit of LV Yin Xu and blood stasis with the disease operating at Ying and Xue levels. A lot of empty heat; these sx would persist for a surprisingly long time before the Yang Xu began to catch up. We saw a direct correlation between stress and health with these patients. One of our treatment goals was to support them in managing the stress of this illness. I would be concerned about support networks for patients not " hooked in " to the biomedical system. Hope these observations help. ACP is an excellent resource; I'd give them a call. Guest guest
Hi all, my experience concerning AIDS is limited to two patients. Both were sent from their doctors. Both patients were "cured", that is went "back" to what they called "resting HIV". This was without any other medication. What was strange was that none of the two doctors that had sent the patients send more patients with AIDS. One of the sent his old mother, and also came himself (all the way from Sweden to Norway, so he must have gotten belief in me (??!!)), the other doctor I heard nothing more from. Both patients were still Ok two years after, as I contacted them to hear. But, two patients make up no statistics!!!!!! Guest guest
Hi Teresa, My name is David Akrish and I am new to the group. I am having great success with a HIV/Aids px. who is quite famous here in Seattle. His T cell count once dropped to 3. I only practice the herbal formulas. I treated what I 'saw' -empty heat, and created a immune enhance formula [spleen of course!]. His WM Dr. told him to see me and is now astounded with the results. His T count jumped 150 pts., wbc doubled, viral load decreased drastically [i don't have the exact #s]. He came in skeptical, and is now very serious. His bi-polar is stable [no more prozak], his energy is way up, his heat is down and he quit smoking...in a matter of weeks. His next T count check will be in August sometime. Also, he has been sporadic at best with consistency to taking the herb, but is now much more serious. Good luck, David - Teresa Hall Wednesday, July 30, 2003 6:27 AM HIV/AIDS Hi group,I have received a couple of new patients who after reading the book "What ifeverything you thought you knew about AIDS was wrong?", by ChristineMaggiore... have completey stopped taking the *cocktail*.One patient had a rather enlightening discovery when he realized that WM wastreating his numbers and not him.
