Guest guest
This is to introduce myself as a new member of this group. My name is , and I am a Licensed Acupuncturist in practice in San Diego. This is my first year of practice, and I have been treating patients for a a diverse array of symptoms and complications associated with insomnia, stress, high cholesterol, vertigo, menopause, hepatitis, depression, cancer, and immunity problems. My special interest is in working with people who have have physical health issues that are now affecting their mental and/or emotional health, or vice-versa. So far, my use of herbs has been limited, and I would like to expand this. In particular, at this time I am treating a woman who has Hepatitis C and has just started Inteferon and Ribavirin combination therapy. She has a history of breast cancer now in remission for 1 year. She is deficient in qi, yin and blood; her kidney and liver pulses are soft and thin. 4 days after beginning the drug combo, her tongue went from pale and dusky to red. She was told that her chances of the drug combo therapy wiping out the Hepatitis is 50/50 for the strain she has. I am nervous to recommend herbs for her, for fear they could intefere with the efficacy of the drug therapy. Does anyone out there have any experience or recommendations for use of herbs for this sort of case?
