One source has cool; another has astringent; yet another has slightly sweet and bland. Functions & indications: Clears the spleen and stomach, disinhibits both the small and large intestines, precipitates bladder stones. Another source: disinhibits the five viscera, rids the spleen and stomach of evil qi, [treats] all sorts of malign heat toxins. Sprouts anyone with that sandwich?
