Guest guest
Jim, One of the points that Z'ev was trying to make is that Holmes DOES NOT put forth CHINESE energetics, but rather his own system. Its a mishmash of the old Galenic four humours, Chinese energetics, and his own energetic " system " . thomas > " James Ramholz " <jramholz > Re: Western traditions, chinese herbs > > Z'ev: > > Do you know of anyone who has been able to verify Holmes' Chinese > energetics? Few books from that era have stood the test of time. Z'ev and others, Holmes has revised his books at least three times, the last one was in 1997 (to the best of my knowledge). Can you say how Jeremy Ross gets around this problem? Jim Ramholz
Guest guest
I'm curious, I understand that Michael Tierra also classifies western and other non-chinese " planetary " (using his term) herbs by Chinese herb categorization. Does anyone know what criteria he uses to determine his temperatures and flavors, or is it also arbitrary like Holmes?
