Guest guest
Group, Thank you for your continued commitment in aiding each other in the realm of Chinese Herbal Medicine. As we have all found, we are indeed a very, very diverse group. Testimonials from our former, or continuing lives are quite interesting. With that said, I would like to take a moment and re-affirm how we all can better manage the deliver of information and not have folks: beg to from the list; manage their receipt of electronic mail accordingly; post messages that are related to a topic heading. As you know, getting here required your signing up through the link. Without achieving this important step, first, you certainly wouldn't be reading all this quality dialogue. If you recall, the sign up process, too, took you through a set of delivery perimeters in which to receive your Chinese Herbal Medicine e-mail. There are three ways to receive this information via message delivery. For your perusal I have listed them here for you. 1.) The first is the simple, tried and true method of INDIVIDUAL E- MAIL, which allows the recipient to receive her/his e-mail throughout the day—one e-mail at a time. For some for us this is the preferred method of receiving these timely gems. For others this method can become quite cumbersome. Performing your daily ritual of logging on and viewing what you to believe to be a couple e-mails may, in fact, have inevitably turned into a nightmare and downright overwhelming. It doesn't have to be this way. There are other choices. Read on and see option 2 and 3. (You'll be glad you did.) 2.) The second method of delivery is the DAILY DIGEST concept. Receiving e-mail in this manner allows one to manage all the comments, responses and queries from your fabulous contemporaries who share their trials and tribulations in one (YES, ONE!) daily e-mail. 3.) The third method is the NO E-MAIL method. This method allows one to read the daily posts from the website, only. For those looking for a way to minimize the clutter and manage their e-mail account better this is a viable option. Now that we've touched on the basics, lets talk about how to get there and 'change' or 'modify' our preference options so that frustration levels become manageable and you don't leave *the CHM family* with your worldly and valuable insights. I'll use this time to show you how to get to the mail preferences and some other fun stuff. It is rather easy. If you're a seasoned r than these instructions should be fairly simply. And even if you're not then you're welcome to follow the 'trial and error' theory. Remember there is no cost, and you can't break anything. From the page, / sign in with the ID and Password that identifies you in the system. Once successfully logged on, the web page will indicate (on the upper left side of the page, under the banner) the groups you have selected to to, which there may be only one or several listed. Click onto Chinese Herbal Medicine link. Appearing before you will be a page with several attributes on the left side: Home, messages, post, chat, etc. In the middle of the page are the recent posts. And, in the upper right hand corner are the EDIT MY MEMBERSHIP and (the dreaded) LEAVE GROUP links. Clicking onto the EDIT MY MEMBERSHIP link will allow you to better manage your e-mail preferences by changing them in the MESSAGE DELIVERY section. AFTER MAKING ANY MODIFICATIONS ON THIS PAGE, JUST REMEMBER TO CLICK THE " SAVE CHANGES " BUTTON. ;-) To get the most out of your participation on this site, my suggestion is taking five minutes and mulling around the various attributes. Clicking onto the MESSAGES attribute will take you to all 20,000 plus messages sent since inception. This is most valuable for those who have recently joined us, or for those looking to clear their mailbox of the clutter containing all those posts I JUST HAD TO KEEP. One attribute in particular that may be of interest is the FILES link. Clicking onto this one you'll see there are several existing filings. Welcome yourself to posting items that may aide the group. My only recommendation is that this area be used for relevant material and therefore maintain a quality of integrity of this groups FILES attribute. Also, please be cognizant to the SUBJECT line while writing or responding to a query, comment, request, etc., on a list. How I use this list is to forward personal education of this valued modality. There will be times I'll see a topic in a book or another list and recall that SUBJECT was previously addressed somewhere else and I use this group's archive to aide in that endeavor. Using an existing subject title to introduce a new subject can get downright cumbersome, too. Therefore, my suggestion is to acquaint oneself with how group lists work. If one individual has posted a discussion of the topic of `Qi', don't simply reply to that persons post with another post to open a dialogue on `Pulse Theory'. Think you understand my point why this is important, especially when researching through the archives. Thanks for reading everyone. Hopefully this post has helped those of you who have been contemplating un-subscribing or wanted to learn a better way to receive your e-mail. And, if your choice is to leave us then I, personally, wish to thank you for visiting and best of luck in your future endeavors. herb Seal Beach, California, USA " The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.
