Guest guest
I'll tell you all about it. But I can't do that much typing.- Ken OK, how about a little bit of typing. You guys who were in the woods with PU come across like monkeys swinging through the trees of your ideas and throwing down bits of half-eaten fruit on the rest of us. It would be helpful to understand, if nothing else, the intensity of your reaction to PU's comments, by knowing what they were. You have been saying you would say more about what he said, but so far, that hasn't happened. The standardization of terms issue came after that (or maybe before that) and is interesting on its own merits, but is a different or parallel discussion (it seems to me). You seemed to promise something but haven't delivered. So I'm sitting here wondering what all this is really about. You're " blown away " by .... a bunch of secret texts recently found in caves? (Were they looking for Osama and found that instead?) PU saying all Western texts are hooey? PU promising new information based on ... ? What's the big deal? Less drama, more data, please. Guest guest
Pat, Well, on the stage of life we are both actors and audience, I guess. Look, it's all Will Morris' fault. He has these very detailed notes that need to be edited and then they will be passed around to those of us who were there. I took lousy notes. I didn' anticipate that I'd be called upon to be the chronicleer of the event. I talked to Will the other day and he said it will be a couple of months before he has time to do anything about these notes. I'll see if I can get some from someone else, and then maybe I can make a better report. Sorry to keep you in suspense. And, again, after I see Paul in November in San Diego, maybe I'll be able to talk about this more coherently. By the way, the thing that Marnae and Z'ev want to know about, the term standardization project in Beijing is a separate issue. And there is a description of it in the first issue of CAOM that I edited, written by Prof. Zhu Jian Ping. That's Volume II, Number 1. Guest guest
Ah, yes, I remember it now, as I float amidst a vast sea of information. It is somewhere back there in my mind, I'll go read it again. Thanks, On Thursday, October 16, 2003, at 11:55 AM, kenrose2008 wrote: > By the way, the thing that Marnae and > Z'ev want to know about, the term > standardization project in Beijing > is a separate issue. > > And there is a description of it in > the first issue of CAOM that I edited, > written by Prof. Zhu Jian Ping. > > That's Volume II, Number 1. Guest guest
Ken, I did understand that the term-standardization issue is distinct, thank you. And I don't seek to find fault, merely to find out what's going on. I also understand the need to prepare an accurate, careful account. I look forward to reading the report.
