I hate it when that happens... you fiddle with your prescription etc...

I assume Brian is a relatively new practitioner and it kind of shows

here. What he writes about might well apply to his own situation.

However, he forgets about two variables... one) the concept of writing

the classic formula without writing the herbs in the formula... was it

Qin BoWei who said he was writing in the spirit of Liu Wei Di Huang?

two) is the idea of using classic formulas for purposes " outside the

box " . The beginner knows a hundred formulas for one disease, the expert

one formula for a hundred diseases. Certainly as I practice more I use

fewer different herbs, leaving behind many and pulling them out only

for the special cases. When I started I bought a lot of single

Quali-herb herbs that I still haven't used. At the time I thought Su Mu

was really cool, I still do, but I've never had occasion to use it. So

I would suggest that new practitioners use Quali-herb, Lotus (green

mountain?) or other manufacturer mixing services for a year or so until

they establish what their needs are.

Wow, 100 classic formulas... That should do pretty well.
